After a trip to the town library and finding a book called Kids can Crochet, she set to work. Using a large hook, and double strand of chunky yarn, she managed to read a simple pattern and make this back pack for her little sister.
It is made as a tall and narrow rectangle, folded in half and whip-stitched together. Then two chain straps joined to bag. Finally a ribbon threaded through as a drawstring.
Fits a small notepad, pen, and a peppermint. Perfect.
L.
